The only documented military usage of this rifle was by Maroszek himself during this campaign. The Polish military was very satisfied with the results, and ordered an additional 55 rifles to be made for troop trials by January 1 st, 1939.ĭevelopment came to a halt, however, as the Polish military had much more pressing matters to deal with during 1939 - namely the Nazi invasion on September 1 st, and the Soviet invasion on September 17 th. After reviewing his new design, Maroszek was given six weeks to produce prototypes for further testing. He wasn’t satisfied with this, though, and proposed a new design for his rifle. Three designs passed these trials, with Maroszek’s prototype coming in third. Part of this plan was to arm their soldiers with a self-loading rifle, and was welcoming design submissions for testing in 1934.

So rather than do something actually productive in between my classes, I’ll be going over the history of the weapons CoD: WWII! Each post will focus on the design and development of the weapons, what the variants represent, and maybe even touch on the etymology of the names of both variants and upgraded versions. It was only recently, though, that I found out that there was a word for this - Hoplology. I’ve always been fascinated with military history, particularly the tools and weapons that are used. Previously, I’ve made a few posts here researching new weapons for Sledgehammer to potentially add to the game.
